Dental Implant –The gold standard for replacement of missing tooth

What is an Dental Implant ?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.

Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed  (permanent) single tooth, a bridge or even for a full mouth rehabilitation, that are made to match your natural teeth.

Who can get a Dental Implant ?

In most cases, anyone healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction or oral surgery can be considered for a dental implant. Patients should have healthy gums and enough bone to hold the implant. They also must have good oral hygiene and regular dental visits. Heavy smokers, people suffering from uncontrolled chronic disorders — such as diabetes or heart disease — or patients who have had radiation therapy to the head/neck area need to be evaluated on an individual basis. If you are considering implants, talk to us and we can clear all your concerns and doubts.

How to assess our Bone Strength for Implant placement ?

Most commonly used method of assessing bone width and height for implant placement is to take a simple scan “CBCT”. With the help of CBCT we can assess the bone and also select the size and site of the implant to be placed. At Peach Dental we always make sure to use the correct diagnostic tool and then go ahead with the procedure.

Are Dental Implants painful ?

Most people who have received dental implants say that there is very little discomfort involved in the procedure. Local anaesthesia is used during the procedure, It is similar to that used in a simple tooth extraction and most patients report that implants involve less pain than a tooth extraction. Post implant placement proper medication and follow ups to the dentist will result in a painless procedure. We here at Peach Dental make sure that follow up visit and always maintained and proper rview is done.
